The FCC has received nearly four million public comments about their crucial upcoming rule-making decision on the question of net neutrality.   Will the FCC allow broadband discrimination based on clout and resources? Will this debate be affected by recent concerns about intelligence agencies and surveillance, and who controls access to data?  In the fight between an open and closed internet, what are the stakes for the public, for the future of business creation, information flow and democratic governance? 

SPEAKERS: Tim Wu is a professor at Columbia Law School specializing in the Internet, the media and communications. He is credited with coining the term "net neutrality" and is the foremost author and theoretician on the subject of the 
open internet.   Micah Sifry is the co-founder and editorial director of Personal Democracy Media, which focuses on how technology can influence the political process.  He is a co-founder of the Sunlight Foundation, and has taught and written extensively about the relationship between politics and the internet.
